Our Primary Purpose:

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Intergroup Association of Alcoholics Anonymous welcomes you to its official web site.  SEPIA covers the Southeastern Pennsylvania area, including the city of Philadelphia and the surrounding counties of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery.  Our primary purpose is to carry the message of recovery to the alcoholic who still suffers.  If you want to drink, that's your business; if you want to stop, it's ours.  We can help!  Please call 215-923-7900.

May 12th - COMBINED ZONE FUN SHOP - Theme: Happy, Joyous and Free from 1pmto 4pm at 4021 Walnut Street, Philadelphia (19104).  For more info, call the 4021 Club at 215-386-7486.

June 24th - the Unity Committee will hold their UNITY PICNIC at Neshaminy State Park, Pavilion #1 at Dunks Ferry Road in Bensalem, Bucks County.  Swimming Pool ($8 pool fee per person), fishing and kid friendly.  Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Soda & Coffee will be provided.  Please bring a covered dish to share.  There will be a contest for the best potato, pasta and macaroni salas.  Please arrive by 12:30 to enter.  More info?  Call Heidi N., 609-221-6543 or Tony D., 267-285-7324.

June 7th - the THORNDALE LOST & FOUND group announces their 11th anniversary.  AA and Al-Anon speakers with an Ice Cream Social and Cake on Thursday, 6/7 from 6:30 to 8:30pm at Thorndale United Methodist Church, 3503 Lincoln Highway, in Thorndale (19372)

June 24th - the RED FOX SUNDAY NIGHT group of A.A. announces their 30th anniversary on Sunday, 6/24 (rain or shine) at the Anson B. Nixon Park, Pavilion #3 in Kennett Square from 1pm to 5pm.  Bring a side dish or dessert.  Hot doges, hamburgers and more will be provided.  Speaker meeting at 2pm.  Don't miss the Home Group World Championship Vollegball Challenge!  If you need directions or more details, call Terry S. 610-496-9690.

June 19th - the TUESDAY NIGHT WOMEN'S GROUP of A.A. announces their 7th anniversary at Lutheran Reformation Church at 102 West Rose Tree Road (19063).  Doors open at 7pm; Speaker at 7:30pm.  Food, Fun, Fellowship.

May 19th - the NEW BEGINNINGS group of A.A. at Episcopal Hospital, Front and Lehigh Avenue, 1st Floor from 7pm until 9pm.  Donations accepted.

May 19th - the OSCEOLA group    of A.A. is celebrating their 32nd anniversary at 1pm at the Unitarian Society of Germantown at 6511 Lincoln Drive.  Please park in rear lot (driveway is next to bridge on Johnson Street.

May 22nd - the YOUNG WOMEN'S GROUP anniversary celebration will be at 6pm at St. John's Lutheran Church, 3101 Tyson Avenue (19149).

May 25th - the NORTH PHILADELPHIA group of AA. will celebrate their 52nd anniversary on Friday, 5/25 at 7pm at East Bethel Baptist Church, Park Avenue and Erie Avenue (enter on Park Avenue). Donations accepted.

May 25th - May 27th - 4021 GROUP, 4021 Walnut Street is hosting a MEMORIAL DAY ALCATHON from 7pm on Friday thru 7pm on Sunday.  Longtimer's Panel on Sunday, May 27th from 3pm to 5pm.

May 26th - the PENNYPACK PARK group of A.A. is hosting a MEMORIAL DAY PICNIC from Noon to 5pm at 8600 Krewstown Road.  Food, music, games, prizes!  "Sober Fund Under the Sun".  Family-friendly. Adults $10, Children under 10 free.  Rain date is Sunday, May 27th.

May 29th - the 12 & 12 group of A.A. is sponsoring a NEWCOMER'S WORKSHOP at Mediator Lutheran Church, 2832 Cambria Street at 8pm.  Donations gratefully accepted.

June 14th - the ONE PARKWAY group is celebrating its 34th anniversary from 6 to 8 pm at the Arch Street United Methodist Church at Broad & Arch Streets (19107).  Food, fun, fellowship.  All are welcome!

June 17th - the SUNSHINE group invites all to join in their 10th annual GRATITUDE MEETING from 3 to 4:30pm at the Calvary Episcopal Church in the Parish House at 5020 Pulaski Avenue (19144). Donations accepted.

June 29, 30 and July 1st - the LIBERTY BELL ROUND UP will take place at the Ramada Philadelphia Airport, 76 Industrial Highway in Essington, PA  19029.  Room rates are $99.00 per night plus tax.  Book your room by June 15th.  Make sure you mention the Liberty Bell Round Up to get the rates.  $35 registration fee per person.  Includes:  3 day program, all workshps, speakers, Dance/DJ, BBQ and live music.  Tickets for buffet dinner and ice cream social sold separately.  After May 15th, the registration is $40.  For more information, call Scott F. at 215-431-0921 or email at scott@newfoundfreedom.com.  Website is:  www.libertybellroundup.com.

June 2nd - Districts 24, 25 and 26 will host a WORKSHOP at the SEPIA Office, 444 N. 3rd Street, 3rd Floor, in Philadelphia (19123). Theme: Let's Celebrate.  The time is from 11am until 2pm.

August 24-26th - PENNSCYPAA XXIV (Pennsylvania State Conference of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous) will be held at the Penn State Conference Center Hotel, 215 Innovation Boulevard, State College, PA  16803.  www.pennscypaa-xxiv.org. 

HOW TO GET INVOLVED:

SEPIA is always in need of volunteers to help carry the message of recovery. You simply have to show up. Most committees do not have a length of sobriety requirement. There are several ways to get involved.

  1. Volunteer at the SEPIA office. We ask one year of continuous sobriety to answer phones at the office. If you have less than a year, there are plenty of things you can do to help. For instance, we can always use help putting our newsletter, Interviews, together toward the end of each month.

  2. Get involved with one of our 12 Step Committees. These committees meet at the SEPIA office, 444 N. 3rd Street, 3rd Floor, Philadelphia at 7:00 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) on the following nights:
